After Care

The life of your tattoo is dependent upon the care it receives in the first few days. First, keep the tattoo covered with the bandage for at least 18 hours. After this time remove the bandage; if the gauze sticks to the skin, proceed to wet the area down with cool water, then remove the gauze carefully. Once the tattoo is exposed, wash thoroughly with soap and water. Be sure to remove all surface blood and rinse off all remaining soap.

  • DO NOT RE-BANDAGE TATTOO
  • DO NOT APPLY VASELINE OR PETROLEUM JELLY
  • DO NOT APPLY ALCOHOL

At this point pat lightly to dry.

  • DO NOT RUB OR SCRATCH THE TATTOO

Then with clean hands, apply a light coat of Lubriderm Lotion two times a day.

  • DO NOT LET THE TATTOO DRY OUT

This lotion can be purchased at any local drug store. If a rash occurs, discontinue use.

The tattoo will develop a layer of dry skin. Let this skin fall off naturally.

  • DO NOT PICK THE TATTOO
  • DO NOT EXPOSE TO DIRECT SUNLIGHT FOR TWO WEEKS
  • DO NOT SWIM FOR TWO WEEKS
  • DO NOT SOAK IN SAUNA, STEAM OR BATH TUB FOR ONE WEEK

After the skin has fallen off, there will be a period of adjustment for the new skin. It is advisable to apply a hand lotion.

The tattoo is your responsibility after you leave the studio.
